About
Name in Korean is a free tool for anyone who wants to see their name written in Hangul, the Korean alphabet. It is used by K-pop and K-drama fans, Korean learners, travelers, and people preparing gifts, signatures, or name seals.
How the converter works
Common English first names and surnames use the spelling set by the National Institute of Korean Language for foreign words. When a familiar alternative exists, such as 다니엘 for Daniel, it is shown as well.
Names that are not on the list are converted by pronunciation rules: English letters are mapped to the nearest Korean sounds and then built into Hangul syllable blocks. These results are marked as a phonetic estimate.
Privacy
All conversion happens in your browser. The names you type are not sent to our server.
